New Suggestion!

Dear S1-05

Hey guys! Just a suggestion but some of you may know of this website called khan academy.
They post content regarding almost all subjects. If you guys would like it I can post the video and you guys can review and revise that days topic. The video is followed by a very short activity that will take you about 5 minutes to do. If you guys would like this system then do inform by the end of this week.

Dearest 105...

Dearest 105,

As we all know, change is inevitable. And as we have all moved on to a new chapter in life, from primary to secondary school, there are bound to be changes.

And perhaps it's time to change ourselves. In the way we walk, the way we present ourselves and the way we present the things around us. As I have mentioned earlier in class, please push in your chairs before you leave the class room and make sure that all the lights, fans and air conditioning are turned off.

Walk in two straight lines and make sure to close up the gaps. make sure to keep quiet. Look in front and make sure you see the other person's head and not the beautiful scenery around you.

There are 6Ps I have always tried to achieve and make sure I am displaying these qualities:

Polite
Prepared
Positive
Pro-active (participate)
Punctual

I know that you might not want to do all these. I know I might be a 'control freak' but If we can and if its beneficial, then we should. Please be cooperative

Let's work hard together to leave a good impression on the teachers, students and school. Remember that no matter where you are, what you do and how you behave, there will always be someone watching. Give everything your best shot

Thank you.
Best regards, Jane

Regarding the posting of daily homework on this class blog

Dear S1-05,

we will use this class blog for several purposes, and one of them will be to update the homework on a daily basis. For now, can we have Jun Yi (our temporary Vice Chairperson) post a note everyday to indicate the homework for the various subjects until we appoint a class secretary? I have taken a photo of a previous class blog to give you an idea on how a good homework post looks like =)

Thank you and I hope you will enjoy your first day of lessons tomorrow =)

What To Bring Tomorrow?

What things do we need to bring tomorrow like workbooks or textbooks?

Error on the main page

Dear all,

How are all of you? Hope you had a fun time during camp!

While reading what to bring for tomorrow (Wed 7th Jan), I found what looks like a typo error on the S1 Google Site and wanted to clarify if we actually need to bring our LD tomorrow.
I would appreciate it if our form teachers could help address this problem. A screenshot of the alleged error is embed below.

 hi
Please refer to the second point or click here to go to the actual S1 Google Site

Your friend and classmate,

Whatsapp Class Group

Hi all!
May I suggest that we create a class group in WhatsApp? We can inform each other of developments in school. Those who use WhatsApp, could you please write down your contact number in the comments? Thank you! XD

Attire for tomorrow

Dear students,

some of you have enquired regarding the attire. Please be in your S&W t-shirt (or primary school PE t-shirt) and track pants. You have to wear track pants as you will be moving around and stretching quite a bit. In other words, your SST school pants will tear during the high elements activities.... So, please spread the word around. Thanks and see you tomorrow!

Ms Andrea Koh

Just a gentle reminder

Dear students,

Here's a reminder for all students to hand in your forms tomorrow, especially the orientation forms as we need your parents consent for you to participate in the high elements. Also, from now onwards, please be seated in the assembly area according to your register number (as per friday). Lastly, have an amazing coming week and be dressed appropriately for the high elements (long track pants). Best if you bring a light snack and a water bottle as well. See you tomorrow! =)

Goodbye and hello..

Dear Class S105,

Greetings to you and a very warm welcome to the School of Science and Technology.  There must have been much ado about and you are trying your best to adjust to the surroundings and its paraphernalia.  Take your time to digest what you see and what you hear, there is no hurry there for we will have the whole year to get to know each other and over many more good years to come.  I do not remember feeling nervous during my first day (I was from a girls'  school by the way) for the migration from Primary to Secondary School was almost flawless as the two institutions were closely connected and it was almost liken a continuation of some sort.  I reckon for most of you, although the closure of a chapter brought about relief, it must have been hard saying goodbye and moving on.  And then faster than you know it, here we all are on that same page called SST.  As this new page starts afresh for all of us, I pray that you look forward to coming to us.  That every day will continue to excite you as you embrace life, learn about life and write the pages in this book of yours the way you hope it to be.  We will be here with you every step of the way so, give us a shoutout anytime.  Know that you will be a reflection of us from here on, so stand tall stand proud and be the best that you can be.  And be kind because you never know who is fighting what battle in their own backyard and what your kindness would mean, be kind.    Enjoy the rest of the orientation!

Cheers,
Ms Huang PS
